The tepid 7-2 favorite on the morning line is the sharp Last to Fire from the Jose De La Torre barn. He has won three of his last four starts and was most recently seen winning the GI Vessels Maturity in a fast final time of 19.34 for 400 yards.
Tonight's Go Man Go is also at 400 yards and features a wide open field from top to bottom. Jess Featureme Quick just won the G3 Los Al Challenge Championship, Cold Cash 123 won this race last year and won a G2 at Remington Park two starts ago, Flame N Flash almost pulled a 26-1 upset in the Champion of Champions last year and runs well fresh, Hez Our Secret has 4 wins from 9 starts at Los Al and hails from the hot Trey Wood barn, Rylees Boy has not slowed down at the age of 8 and won the GI Los Al Winter Championship at this distance two starts ago, the longshot Jm Blue Light won impressively in his first start for the Jones barn and looked to be wanting more distance, Chivalry was bet down as the favorite in his last troubled start in a GI, Sparky E Boy ran a good second behind Jess Featureme Quick in his first start for Jones last out, and Check My Thoughts was last seen winning the GI Spencer L. Childers. Tough group.
My pick in the Go Man Go is Check My Thoughts. I think he is going to relish the outside post. Some of his wins have been better-than-looked given his troubled starts. If he gets away with the rest of them, I think he will be right there at the end. Given the tough late pick-4 sequence, I am going to take a stand and single Check My Thoughts in hopes of cashing a nice one.
Not only are these runners in search of the GI Go Man Go win, they also have their eyes set on the berth to the GI $750,000 Champion of Champions that the winner will earn in tonight's event.
