Fun Info: Trainer Wayne Lukas and Bob Baffert used to be top trainers in the Quarter Horse world before switching to Thoroughbreds many years ago and Los Alamitos used to be their home base. Both Lukas and Baffert have a chance to become the first trainer to win both a Grade I Thoroughbred event and a Grade I Quarter Horse event at Los Alamitos with a win in the Starlet. Baffert sends out Maybellene and Lukas sends out Take Charge Brandi.

She was bet down to favoritism in her debut over the Del Mar polytrack about 3 weeks ago. She showed a bit of speed but didn't have much punch in the stretch. It was a good educational debut and now she returns to the track where she had been training all along. Her sire was a good dirt runner and I expect improvement in her second start.
