A pair of 2-year-old events highlight tonight's card at Los Alamitos which also has a pick six carryover in excess of $8,000. We could see some nice debuts by some promising juveniles in races 5 and 6. Stay tuned to my twitter feed for my plays.
Selections:
Race 1: 4-8-3
#4 Carchy Cat is better than his last two races indicate. He's got some speed and reunites with jockey Omar Santos who is a perfect 2-for-2 with him. Trainer Humberto Loma has been sending out live runners these past few weeks.
Race 2: 9-8-4
#9 Hayley's Gray showed some speed last time out before tiring late and finishing third. This will be her second start since February 2014 and I expect an improved effort tonight.
Race 3: 3-2-1
#3 Grayden is only making his third lifetime start and has plenty of room to improve. He was claimed by a sharp trainer that is winning with over 40% of his thoroughbred starters.
Race 4: 10-8-6
#10 El Korita ran too good to lose last time when missing by a nose at a slightly higher level. This trainer jockey combination tend to will and this runner has fired good efforts with jockey Cesar De Alba aboard.
Race 5: 1-3-2
#1 Sale Topper looked good in both workouts leading up this race and these connections have been winning races in bunches.
Race 6: 7-8-2
#7 Daring N Different gets the slight edge in a group that looks to have quite a few runners that might make some noise in their debuts.
Race 7: 1-5-6
#1 Tsin Tao got away to a fast break and held on for the win last time out at a shorter distance. I envision a similar scenario tonight with his inside post position.
Race 8: 6-7-2
#6 Wilson Wheelz has encountered some trouble in his last couple of starts, if he can get away cleanly, I think he has a big chance of beating this field to the wire in a small upset.
