Today's Selections

Race 1:  1-2-4

#1 Lirica Heat is by far the most experience of the group and I feel like there are a few efforts in her form that would get her the win here.

Race 2:  2-4-5

#2 Aikau was a good second in his debut when pressing a good pace. Vinnie Bednar has been riding well over the night oval at Los Alamitos, maybe he can transfer that over to Santa Anita.

Race 3:  2-3-1

#2 Take It Easyplease was over a length clear of third last time out. That was her first try at a route and I expect her to do better today.

Race 4:  1-7-3

#1 Tribal Tribute has won three of her last five and arrives second time out for the sharp barn D'Amato.


Race 5:  5-1-4

#5 Ace Deuce is a horse that i have bet over and over and over again with little success. I can't give up on him now considering he's taking a drop in class.

Race 6:  1-5-4

#1 Prince Valiant ran the best beyer speed figure of his careering his last start when second at this same level. He finished seven lengths clear of the third place finisher and any kind of improvement should make him the one to beat.

Race 7:  6-10-3

#6 Beach Patrol looked good when winning his So Cal debut for this barn. The horse he beat that day came back to win yesterday. It looks like this guy is just starting to get good.

Race 8:  7-1-2

#7 Lieutenant Colonel appears to fire his best efforts when he's able to make the lead and I think he will be able to do that today. I like that he's in sharp form while some of these are trying to get back in rhythm.

Race 9:  9-10-3

#9 Ree O Kerr was a solid second in his debut at Golden Gate after showing some good early speed. This trainer does well with second time starters and I like that he decided to bring this colt down to Southern California. I like the local workout and the addition of blinkers. Agapito time!

Race 10: 6-4-1

#6 Boat Drinks finally broke her maiden and while her figure wasn't all that strong, I liked the way she looked coming down the stretch. She will be a good price and she's shown a liking to this downhill turf course.
